I have been in the park twice in a traffic jam. To get away from the crowds you have to hike in the backcountry. However during the hike you have to worry about bear encounters. The park has a growing population of Grizzly (600 bears). I saw one of these animals from our car, I've never seen an animal that big that can run 30 miles an hour.
