Pond in the Loess Hills by Artist Troy Richard Thomas

Title: Pond in the Loess Hills    This photo is from a backpacking trip in the Loess Hills of Western Iowa. A chain of wind swept hills that rise 200 feet above the Missouri River Floodplain. I spent 16 days backpacking at Sylvan Runkle Wilderness area and hiked south through a broken chain of wildlife areas and parks. I sat on top of the hills and watched the sunset in the valley every night.
