Cops, Police, Stupidity, Elitism, School, Fools

Greed, Rich, Poor, Middle Class, Despair

No Future, Global Warming, Fires, Storms, Drought

Human Ugliness, Sour Krauts, White Supremacy

Conservative Christian, Conservative Islam

Solar, Wind, Hydro, The End of Oil.

I just wanted to make a few bucks and sit and relax out in the patio garden, but you always have to worry about what's coming up next.

 I am tired and sat down next to a tree

Will I become Rip VanWinkle

I wake up in 3040 and I am floating atop a burger stand

The wilderness I sat down in has turned into a concrete landscape of a bombed out city

Peter Pan and tinkerbell fly above the buildings dropping gasoline bombs

Like a lava flow people are flowing across the pavement

A giant earthworm is picking up human riders

The fish cast out for people with video game lures

Giant hooks pop out of the lures and the fish drag the humans into the water and swallow them whole in a big bass mouth

How we have become the world

It's so easy to fall in place, conform, and turn into a piece of shit

I float with my boat tied to my hand and spin into a dream on the Upper Iowa

You needn't dream here, everything is done for you

Sorting robots roam through the trash looking for precious metals in trash bag heaven

Row crop money, sweet as honey

As the sun sets through the smoky dust, genetic vampires wake up and roam the streets looking for blood and popsicles.

Wednesday June 19, 1991 Lime Springs to Lansing Iowa Upper Iowa River, Mississippi River

         Eighteen days and the journey ends

           Well how do you feel my friend

      Being on that water wheel is a great ride

Betrayed, trust, tired, hurt, hiding in the greenery

The navigation channel is not the river, the backwaters are the flow

Anything between the mountains is the Mississippi

                 The glory is the sun (Helios)

                   The trees cry out for rain

An eagle feather spirals down from the clouds and lands on the boat

The owl talks, the great blue heron scoops up a fish

       Tom cats swimming among the stumps

Fishermen sitting slumped in their boats under the sun, waiting for that fish to hit their lure

These people are proudly naked to the world

People that love the human society of chit chat

When I am on the water I am the ocean, I am loved.

Painting in the Garden

                          The landscaping job

 Lifting 80 pound concrete blocks one by one into a wheelbarrow

                  Wheeling them to the job site

                     Stacking 80 pound blocks

Lifting 40 pound cap blocks into the wheelbarrow

                     Wheeling to the job site

                 Stacking 40 pound cap blocks

Digging trench, moving earth with a shovel and hands

                       Hitting roots and rocks

Removing roots with clippers, axe, and chainsaw

              Fingers ripped, torn, and bruised

Moving 80 pound concrete blocks to place them in

             Level and relevel 80 pound blocks

Shifting blocks backwards and forwards till they look right and match

         Moving paving bricks in place till level

You might have to move a brick out 3 to 5 times till it looks level and good

Move bricks to brick yard so they are out of the way

      Move sand in and brush into the cracks

             Than wash out the excess sand

Revaluate, move a few bricks to make it perfect

Drive home with hands turned to claws, arms and legs hurting

  Get up in the morning and do it all over again.

                     Angry young and poor

                 Angry middle aged and poor

90 years old and rich, what the hell can you do with it.

        In America it's every man for himself

       In America your either living or dying

If you're dying it's probably because you can't afford the health care system

Maybe you choked on a peanut because you can't afford the $500 dollar epi-pen, $60 dollars in Canada

In America you can work in cerfdom at a hotel cleaning rooms and never get ahead

In America where the gun is your only friend (the Cowboy way)

Freedom has to be fought for, if the vote doesn't get you there, than there will be blood on the streets

In America there's no safety net, if you fail, you fall and you're homeless

    If your lucky you can live out of your car

If your unlucky and sleeping under a street lamp and a cop comes along and tells you to move your car, and it escalates into shots fired

You sit bleeding out in your car for the high crime of being poor.
