Lake Superior Storm Head by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
The storm was moving across the lake like a giant land crab, with a sheet of rain emitted underneath the darkness of the cloud. When it reached me it rained hard for forty minutes, stinging my eyes. The fog set in and the temperature dropped 20 degrees, my hands started to freeze up.

Kids from the Upper Iowa River Trip by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
My Father and I used to do annual Upper Iowa River Trips during the 90s, and a few trips in the 2000s. The Upper Iowa River is a National Scenic River. I have paddled this river 14 times, twice from Lime Springs to the Mississippi River.

View from the Chichaqua Bike Trail Baxter Iowa by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
The Chichaqua Bicycle Trail is one of the prettier trails I've been on in the state of Iowa. I used to start in Baxter but now I park in Mingo Iowa to make the trip shorter.

Mississippi River by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
The Upper Mississippi River meanders through a series of lakes and marshes. At one point I came to a dead stop in a large marsh. I stood up in my boat to get my head above the high marsh grass. I looked around and was surrounded by miles of marsh. Usually I would follow the flow pattern but the flow had come to a dead stop. I was surrounded by deep mud and grass reeds. A painted turtle swam by the boat and disappeared in the grass. Way off in the distance I could see a small speck of dry land, with a picnic table at the edge? I backtracked and headed that way and found the exit into the river again.

Olympic National Park Negative Print by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
Ocean view through scrub conifers. I hiked in several areas of the park. The park is unique, you get three zones to play in ocean, rain forest, and alpine.

Untitled Face by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
This is a very silly portrait I did in the early 90s. One of several thousand I did in the 80s and 90s in many different styles.

Little House in Iowa City by Artist Troy Richard Thomas
This is a rental house near the cemetary with the black angel statue. During college my brother rented the property for the year. I would stay here often and go to the Art Museum and visit the Pollack and go use the Art Library at the School.
